I like the picture, Loupy, the bike the cruise boat front of the basket what i use to carry Loupy ; but there is no massive tourisme in french polynesia, a few 130 000 tourists per year, when there are 8 millions in Hawaii !!!
I need to concentrate quite much to write good publications in french, because i have more and more readers so i don’t wish to drop the attention with fast and bad. Maybe i will loose even more with changing language. HaHaHa. Then i don’t mind, because i’m my self changing much languages too. To make a good text, i mean in french what i know much better than english ; i well reread it, modify errors, misunderstandings or parts of chronology about 20 times ;so it takes me much time ; No natural talent for the blog so called Living and Travel with Sailboat ; LTS, the VVV in french.
So what ? Right now, i don’t mind worry for a really readable french publication and just write it. To write right you have to write now. Anyway to write something at one moment you have to do it…maybe a speak machine would do it too…
Sorry for the bla bla bla ;
To make it simple (what was the first idea/ path lost above) ; i arrived in the city of Papeete, the capital of Tahiti and the whole French Polynesia ; The city is simply the only city, because everything and everybody reach first Papeete. All international flights ; all containers and goods comes first in Papeete, the custums collect the 30% import tax. Then goods are stored and reloaded on smaller cargos. i have seen those vessels many times, making a main attraction in the villages of Tuamotu, Marquesas or Gambier, what was interesting for me to discover during my trip in those islands (arround 13 islands before Tahiti). There is a few export with fish caught by locals and the coprah, (dry pieces of coconut ) ; Only one exception is Moorea with ferry boats, for the short distance of 12 Milles,to make the roll in roll out fast for vehicules. So there is much traffic in Moorea, a bit unexected much on my opinion ; In Papeete it’s about 250 000 habitants so that’s normal.
Futur : I’m waiting for the wind to come back to visit the last islands of my French Polynesia trip; « Les iles sous le vent » what means islands under the wind ; i will not stop in Moorea where i have been 3 times already ; mostly in the bay of Cook what i like much ; it’s beautifull, AND i get wifi in the hotel resort loung what is aswell close to a peer where i leave the dinghy of a petrol station « mobil » i don’t need it for the petrol, they have frech products, for reasonable price.
So it seems to be in one week then i will sail 100 Milles for HAHINE ; then RAIATEA/TAHAA and maybe Bora-Bora why not ; and i heard that MAUPITI is well to see and have a pass to enter the atoll.
Even if Bora-Bora is from sky vieuw the most beautifull of the all French Polynesia, I heard from 2 or 3 sailors I was talking with, that they did not like it so much; had bad feelings of being there, maybe it was just better in the previous; more friendly, safer…
